Aiyanna Ibiza

Aiyanna occupies a low, whitewashed building set back from Cala Nova on Ibiza's east coast, and the location gives it a character quite different from the island's south-coast clubs. Cala Nova is one of the few Ibiza beaches that regularly gets real swell; when the wind is up the water is choppy and body-surfable rather than glassy, which keeps the crowd more mixed and less posed than the flat-calm coves elsewhere. The sand is coarse gold, backed by dunes and pine. The look inside is deliberately unglossy: lime-washed walls, rattan, palm shade, long communal-feeling tables and an open kitchen. Cooking leans eastern Mediterranean with a lot of charcoal work, mezze and whole fish, and the kitchen also runs a breakfast buffet paired with morning yoga sessions, which is not a common combination on the island. Service runs a genuinely long day, from mid-morning right through to after midnight, so the same room shifts from a post-yoga breakfast crowd to a slow lunch, then to lamplit dinner with the sea audible rather than visible. Because it faces east, this is a sunrise coast: the light show here happens over the water in the morning, not in the evening.
