Borgo Santuli

Borgo Santuli sits out on Viale delle Dune, in the dune belt beyond San Leone proper, about seven kilometres from the centre of Agrigento and easy to reach from the station and the main road. The sand here is fine and distinctly golden, and the water shallows out slowly, which makes it a straightforward choice for families with small children rather than swimmers looking for depth. The beach setup is the expected one, umbrellas and loungers with changing cabins, showers, parking and accessible facilities, but what makes the place work is that the bar and restaurant sit right on the beachfront with gazebos and event space attached, so it functions as a venue long after the umbrellas come down. The kitchen describes its own cooking as simple but tasty and delivers on that: fresh salads, filled sandwiches, seafood pasta, fried starters, fresh juices and cocktails, made with local ingredients and served with the sea in front of you. Lunch and dinner run to fixed windows, one to three in the afternoon and eight to half past ten at night, while the beach itself stays open until midnight. Through the summer there are live music evenings and themed events, and the sunset from this stretch of the Agrigento coast is the draw that fills them.
