Il Lido

The establishment dates from 1914, when Poetto was still an undeveloped stretch of white dunes on the edge of Cagliari, and it has operated continuously since. Its scale is the main distinguishing feature: over a thousand cabins are laid out behind the sand, which is a survival of the cabin culture that defined Poetto for most of the twentieth century. Alongside the cabins there are multiple restaurants and bars, spaces used for private events, sports facilities and a programme of activities for children and teenagers. While the bathing season is set from 1 June to 30 September, parts of the complex stay in use outside those months. The site is on the western end of Poetto, close to Marina Piccola and the Sella del Diavolo headland.
