Makris Yialos sits on Makris Gialos, a golden sand bay at Lassi just south of Argostoli on the west side of Kefalonia. The beach holds a Blue Flag and is one of the two main organised bays of Lassi, the other being the neighbouring Platis Gialos. The venue is run by the Magdalinos family, whose operation on the beach dates back to 1979, and covers breakfast, lunch and dinner alongside an all day bar with juices, beers and cocktails. The beach section is organised with sunbeds and umbrellas, and the venue provides free private parking, which is worth knowing because parking at Lassi is tight in August. The bay faces west and is used as a sunset spot. Sunbed rates on this beach are tiered by row and differ between the operators at each end.
