Restaurante Cala Salada

Cala Salada is a small horseshoe bay on the west coast north of Sant Antoni, reached down a steep pine-lined road, with pale sand, clear shallow water and a scatter of old fishermen's boat huts along one side. The restaurant is the only substantial building on the bay and it runs the lounger and umbrella concession on the sand as well as the kitchen, which is why the beach in high summer can feel more like a lounger field than a wild cove. Food is straightforward Mediterranean beach cooking with an emphasis on fish and rice, served on a terrace above the water. The single most practical thing to know is the access rule: through the peak months the access road down to the cove is closed to general traffic between mid-morning and late afternoon, with only taxis, motorbikes, blue-badge holders and people holding a restaurant reservation allowed through. Everyone else parks at the top and walks down. That makes a booking here not just a table but a car park pass, and it is the reason the restaurant is worth planning around rather than dropping into. The neighbouring cove, Cala Saladeta, is reachable only on foot over the rocks.
