Insula Beach Club

Insula is the beach club of the Planeta wine family, set on Via dei Pioppi at Lido Fiori, in the dunes west of Menfi. It is a small operation by design: roughly 45 to 50 positions, each with two loungers, an umbrella and its own table, spread among maritime pines and poplars behind a wide, undeveloped beach with reddish sand. A day rate covers parking, wifi, changing rooms and showers, the lounger set, plus a towel and flip-flops. The kitchen is overseen by executive chef Angelo Pumilia and cooks around what Menfi produces, meaning the day's catch, local vegetables, and North African influences that show up most clearly in the couscous. Lunch runs lighter, with things like katsu sando and Sicilian grain focaccia; aperitivo pairs Planeta wines and island wines with cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks; dinner goes longer, and a handful of guest-chef nights with DJ sets are scheduled across the season. There is also a boutique selling Mediterranean products and swimwear, and a massage area on the beach. Access is by reservation. An accessible bathroom and a sand-and-street beach wheelchair are available, and small pets are welcome.
